There are materials for all tastes and all "buying power" but it will not be with expensive materials that you will draw better or learn easier. See our great and cheap material tips.



Everyone who starts out in the quest to develop the art of drawing always has these questions:

  • "Is it easy to find the drawing materials?"
  • Are drawing materials expensive?
  • What kind of pencil is used to draw?
  • What's the best eraser to turn it off?
  • What's the best graphite eraser?
  • Pencil or pencil? And what is the best graphite to draw?
  • What is the use of the vanity? And what are the functions of the pencils: HB, 2B ...
  • What is the Smile for the drawing?

Is it easy to find the drawing materials?


For the beginner the answer is yes because his material at this stage is the same as the school material used in any school whether public or private in Arts or Arts Education classes.

For the beginner, pencils of 4H, H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B are sufficient.
These graduations are more common, cheap and easy to find and allow you to practice various drawing techniques such as sketch, light, shadow, brightness, etc.
